The election results have been accessed and I can confirm that 1296 votes were cast, as follows:

I therefore confirm that ZHOU, Hanqin received the most votes and will be submitted to the Council to serve as the student representative.

29^th September 2026

Pursuant to Regulation 11.1 of the Regulations Governing the Election of Student Members to the Council, notice is hereby given that the Election Officer has appointed Mr. Jeffrey LI from the Academic Registry to serve as the independent Returning Officer for the election.

In accordance with the regulations, the appointed Returning Officer is not an Elector, shall not participate in the voting or candidacy of this election, and will independently oversee the count.

21^st September 2026

3 nominations have been received and an election will therefore proceed online from 0900hrs (9:00am) 28 September 2026 until 1730hrs (5:30pm) 30 September 2026 (all dates and times are Hong Kong).

3^rd September 2026

The University has announced an election to appoint a student member to the University Council, which serves as the University's highest governing and executive body. The election will be conducted in accordance with the regulations approved by the University Council.

Electoral Roll: All UG and PG students registered in a full-time program leading to a degree or other academic award as of 3 September 2026, in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 4.1.1 and 5 of the Election Regulations.
